Mac OSX malware – FlashBack/FlashFake

The Flashback (or Flashfake) family of malware is for Mac OSX and was first discovered in Sep 2011. This threat was initially being distributed via hacked wordpress blogs, and booby trapped sites using social engineering to lure visitors to download and install fake Adobe Flash Player updates. Later, in the beginning of 2012 this malware was being distributed via exploits, one of them being an un-patched java vulnerability on Macs. A Kaspersky Lab detailed analysis of this malware
