The Shield Deluxe Support
This morning on startup I received an error that Proactive Defense did not start. The notice was a popup in the system tray like below.

The various components of The Shield Deluxe are run like a movie, Play, Pause and Stop as shown in the red box. I simply opened The Shield Deluxe, went to Proactive Defense and click the Play button and Proactive Defense started to run. This is a similar situation for all the other components of The Shield Deluxe.

Autocomplete is the function in your browser that allows your browser to fill in a form automatically for you. While a nice function and make your day a whole lot easier it unfortunately allows hackers and Trojans easier access to your information.
About.com had a more extensive notice about this at
To disable auto-complete in Internet Explorer Open the Internet Explorer browser, From the Internet Explorer menu, select 'Tools' , Select 'Internet Options' and Click 'Content'
To disable auto-complete in Firefox Open the Firefox browser, From the Firefox menu, select 'Tools', Select ' Options' and Click 'Privacy'
Password Security Tips
• never use common names, kids names, birthdays or team names

• do NOT store you passwords on your computer
• never allow your browser to "remember" passwords for you
To turn off the password memory function in your browser:

The Online Threat Landscape
The amount of protection of consumer needs is often confusing and hard to determine. Most of the confusion is what products actually protect against and what the threats really are. With the ever changing landscape of threats and scams the best protection is still your own common sense.
1. Don’t give out personal information to websites or people that you do not know
2. Don’t open attachments from un-known sources
3. If a website looks “suspicious”, it likely is.
But online, everything isn’t always as it appears, with fake websites that are near impossible to tell from the real ones, emails spoofed from your friends email address and your bank asking you to update your information (don’t ever do this online).
PCSecurityShield has introduced our
Threat Matrix, a simple chart that allows users at a glance to determine what products protect against what threats. A simple scroll over the threats and you get a brief explanation of each. This easy to use chart will insure you do not double up on protection, spend unnecessary funds on protection you don’t need and ease the confusion of today’s online threats.
What came first the Chicken or the Egge?

What came first the Chicken or the Egge? The chicken or the egg debate has been around for years. I was watching the QVC channel and I discovered that the Egge was first. The incredible Egge player is loaded with features that will the surprise the average consumer. Off the self it’s loaded with 512MB or 1GB of capacity and it also has a built in FM tuner. Underneath the egg shaped glass is a 1 inch OLED display that supports video. Oh, let’s not forget it also has USB capabilities! The battery filled device will keep you on the dance floor for at least 10 hours. The Egge supports WMV, MPEG and AVI formats for your listening pleasure. The QVC price for this item was around $80.00 dollars, search around you may be able to find a cheaper price. With all the health scares in this world today, you may want to go EGGE-less and continue using Macintosh’s IPod.
All about Internet Security for the average PC User from PCSecurityShield. Somewhat useful resources (and somewhat funny) that will help you protect yourself.
